Description
These Valentine Chocolate Covered Pretzels for kids combine the sweetness of chocolate with the crunch of pretzels, perfect for parties or gifting. Quick to make, they’re a fun treat that everyone will love!
Ingredients
Scale
- 8 ounces (226g) semi-sweet or white chocolate (two 4-ounce bars), finely chopped
- 1/2 teaspoon vegetable oil or coconut oil
- 4 cups pretzels
- optional: sprinkles for topping
Instructions
- Prepare a large baking sheet by lining it with parchment paper and set aside.
- Melt the chocolate and oil together. You can use a double boiler or melt in the microwave: Place them in a heat-proof bowl and microwave in 20-second increments, stirring after each until smooth.
- Dip a pretzel into the melted chocolate, lifting it out with a fork. Tap the fork on the bowl's edge to let excess chocolate drip off. Use a toothpick to slide the pretzel onto the lined baking sheet. If desired, add sprinkles while the chocolate is wet.
- Refrigerate the pretzels for about 20–30 minutes until the chocolate sets. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 1 week or refrigerate for up to 2 weeks.
Notes
Feel free to experiment with different types of chocolate for a unique flavor.
Ensure the chocolate is fully melted and smooth for the best coating on pretzels.
Using sprinkles or other toppings adds a fun touch, especially for kids.
