  • 1 (10 oz) angel food cake
  • 1 (3.4 oz) package instant vanilla pudding mix
  • 1 1/2 cups whole milk
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 1 (21 oz) can strawberry pie filling
  • 1 (8 oz) container cool whip (thawed)
  • fresh strawberries, optional

Instructions

  1. Cut the angel food cake into cubes and set aside.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the instant vanilla pudding mix, whole milk, and heavy cream. Beat on low speed, then increase for 2 minutes until thickened.
  3. Arrange half of the angel food cake cubes at the bottom of a 9 x 13 pan.
  4. Dollop about two-thirds of the strawberry pie filling over the cake cubes.
  5. Spread the vanilla pudding mixture evenly on top of the filling.
  6. Add the remaining strawberry pie filling over the angel food cake cubes.
  7. Spread the thawed Cool Whip evenly on top.
  8. Chill in the refrigerator for 3-4 hours before serving.
  9. Optionally, garnish with fresh strawberries.

Notes

For best results, allow the dessert to chill longer for better flavor melding.
Feel free to use fresh strawberries for extra flavor and garnish.
This dessert can be made a day in advance for convenience.
