Description

This Simple Air Fryer Roast Chicken is packed with flavor and is easy to prepare. Using a whole chicken, lemon, and butter, you’ll have a juicy meal in no time—perfect for a quick dinner. Everyone will enjoy the mouthwatering taste!


Ingredients

  • 1 whole chicken (3.5 pounds, giblets removed)
  • 1/2 lemon
  • 1.5 tablespoons butter (softened)
  • Salt & pepper (to taste)

Instructions

  1. Dry the chicken with paper towels.
  2. Pierce the lemon half several times with a knife and place it inside the chicken's cavity.
  3. Start with the chicken breast side up, rub half of the softened butter on the chicken, and season generously with salt and pepper.
  4. Turn the chicken over, butter the underside, and season with salt and pepper again.
  5. Preheat the air fryer to 350°F.
  6. Place the chicken in the air fryer basket, breast-side down, and cook for 30 minutes.
  7. Carefully turn the chicken breast-side up and cook for another 25 minutes, or until golden brown and the internal temperature reaches at least 160°F.
  8. Let the chicken rest for 10 minutes before carving to ensure it reaches a safe temperature of 165°F and retains its juices.

Notes

Make sure to remove giblets from the chicken before cooking.
For extra flavor, consider adding herbs like rosemary or thyme under the skin.
Letting the chicken rest is crucial for achieving a juicy result.
