Description

This Salmon Bowl is packed with flavor, featuring tender salmon, zesty orange, and a honey-soy glaze. It makes for a nutritious and quick meal that’s sure to delight your taste buds!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound skinless salmon fillets cut into 1-inch pieces
  • ½ teaspoon salt divided
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • 1 large orange juiced and zested, about ½ cup of juice and 1 teaspoon of zest
  • 1 teaspoon minced fresh ginger
  • 1 teaspoons toasted sesame oil
  • 2 teaspoons vegetable oil divided
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds optional
  • cooked rice for serving

Instructions

  1. Pat the salmon dry and season it with ¼ teaspoon salt and black pepper.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine soy sauce, honey, orange zest, orange juice, ginger, and sesame oil. Gently toss the salmon in the marinade and let it sit for 10 minutes.
  3. Heat 1 teaspoon of vegetable oil in a large nonstick skillet over medium-high heat. Add minced garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  4. Remove the salmon from the marinade using a slotted spoon (reserve the marinade) and add it to the skillet in a single layer. Cook for 2 minutes without stirring until lightly browned, then flip and cook for another 2 minutes, or until just cooked through. Transfer to a plate.
  5. Pour the reserved marinade into the skillet, lower the heat to medium, and simmer for 3 to 4 minutes until the sauce thickens and becomes glossy. Return the salmon to the skillet and stir to coat with the glaze.
  6. Sprinkle with sesame seeds and serve over rice.

Notes

Feel free to add vegetables like broccoli or bell peppers for extra nutrition.
For a spicier kick, consider adding red pepper flakes to the marinade.
Marinating the salmon for more than 10 minutes allows for deeper flavor absorption.
