- â…“ cup (79ml) vegetable oil
- 1 cup (242g) pumpkin puree
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons pumpkin pie spice
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- â…“ cup (79ml) buttermilk
- 2 cups (248g) all-purpose flour
- 1 ½ cups (255g) chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F and prepare a 9×5-inch or 8×4-inch loaf pan with cooking spray.
- In a large bowl, mix granulated sugar and brown sugar with vegetable oil and pumpkin puree. Incorporate the eggs, pumpkin pie spice, salt, and baking soda until well combined.

- Bake for 45-55 minutes, checking for doneness with a toothpick in the center. If it comes out clean, the bread is ready.
- Allow to cool before removing from the pan. Store in an airtight container for up to 2 days, or freeze for up to a month.
Notes
For a healthier twist, consider using whole wheat flour instead of all-purpose flour.
Feel free to substitute the chocolate chips with nuts or dried fruit for added flavor.
This bread makes a lovely gift when wrapped in parchment and tied with twine.
