Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 medium potatoes
  • 4 garlic cloves
  • 4 cups chicken broth
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste
  • 1 tbsp oregano
  • Milk (as needed)

Instructions

  1. Wash and scrub the potatoes; keep the skin on for extra flavor and texture.
  2. Place the potatoes in a large crock pot along with whole garlic cloves and chicken broth.
  3. Set the crock pot to cook on high for 3-4 hours or on low for 4-5 hours until the potatoes are fork-tender.
  4. Add in the sour cream, butter, salt, pepper, and oregano, then mash the mixture with a potato masher until well combined.
  5. Stir in milk gradually until the mashed potatoes reach your preferred consistency. Adjust seasoning with more salt and pepper if needed.

Notes

For extra flavor, consider adding cream cheese.
These mashed potatoes can be kept warm in the crockpot for several hours with the lid on.
Feel free to customize by adding herbs like chives or parsley.
