- 1 teaspoon kosher salt
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 3 garlic cloves minced
- zest of one lemon
- juice of one lemon
- 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
- dash freshly ground black pepper
- 1/3 cup grated parmesan cheese
Instructions
- Bring a large pot of water to a boil and season with salt. Cook the spaghetti according to package instructions, reserving 1 cup of pasta water before draining.
- In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the butter. Add the minced garlic and lemon zest, cooking until fragrant, about one minute.
- Stir in the lemon juice, 1/2 cup reserved pasta water, salt, and pepper, whisking to combine.
- Toss the cooked spaghetti in the skillet, mixing well. Add the grated parmesan and toss again. If needed, add more reserved pasta water until reaching desired sauce consistency.
Notes
For extra flavor, consider garnishing with fresh herbs like parsley or basil.
