Description

Transform your box mac and cheese into an irresistible meal with creamy Greek yogurt and a kick of hot sauce. Perfect for a quick dinner or comforting lunch!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 box kraft macaroni and cheese
  • 23 tablespoons pasta water
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1/4 cup 2% greek yogurt
  • 1/2 teaspoon hot sauce
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground black pepper

Instructions

  1. Boil a large pot of salted water and cook the macaroni noodles according to package directions until al dente.
  2. Before draining, reserve about 2-3 tablespoons of starchy pasta water. Drain the noodles.
  3. Return the empty pot to low heat and melt the butter completely.
  4. Whisk the Greek yogurt, reserved pasta water, hot sauce, and black pepper into the melted butter until smooth.
  5. Stir in the cheese powder packet until the sauce is smooth, adding more pasta water if needed.
  6. Mix the drained noodles back into the pot and coat each noodle in the creamy cheese sauce, serving immediately.

Notes

For extra flavor, consider adding crispy bacon or broccoli to the dish.
You can adjust the amount of hot sauce depending on your spice preference.
Serve with a sprinkle of cheese on top for extra richness.
