  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 cup flour
  • 2 tablespoons paprika
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1/4 cup oil, + more as needed
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1 teaspoon hot sauce

Instructions

  1. Pour buttermilk over chicken breast and stir to coat. Refrigerate while preparing the coating and honey.
  2. In a shallow dish, mix flour, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  3. In a small bowl, whisk together honey, red pepper flakes, and hot sauce. Set aside.
  4. Remove chicken from buttermilk and coat each side with the flour mixture, repeating for each piece.
  5. Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Cook chicken in a single layer for 3-4 minutes on one side, then flip.
  6. Continue cooking for another 4-5 minutes, ensuring chicken reaches 165˚F internal temperature. Remove to a paper towel-lined plate.
  7. Repeat cooking process for all chicken pieces, adding more oil if needed. Arrange on a platter and drizzle with hot honey.

Notes

For extra crispiness, ensure the oil is hot before adding the chicken.
Adjust the hot sauce and red pepper flakes according to your heat preference.
