Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup unsalted butter
- 8 ounces cream cheese
- 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
- 5 cups powdered sugar
- 3–4 tablespoons heavy cream
- 8 Oreo chocolate sandwich cookies
Instructions
- In a stand mixer or using a handheld mixer, beat the softened butter, cream cheese, and vanilla on medium-high speed for 2 to 2½ minutes until fluffy.
- Reduce mixer speed to medium-low and gradually add the powdered sugar 1 ½ cups at a time, alternating with 1 tablespoon of heavy cream after each addition.
- Mix until the frosting is creamy and smooth.
- Gently fold in the finely crushed Oreo cookies, ensuring they are well incorporated.
- If not using immediately, store in the refrigerator until needed. Before using, let it sit at room temperature for 20-30 minutes and re-whip for 15-30 seconds until fluffy.
Notes
Ensure that the Oreo cookies are crushed finely for the best texture in piping.
If the frosting is too soft, additional powdered sugar can be added to reach desired consistency.
Store any leftover frosting in the refrigerator for up to a week.
