- ½ cup butter (unsalted)

- 4 cloves garlic (minced)
- salt and pepper (to taste)
- 2 teaspoons italian seasoning
- ½ cup white wine (such as sauvignon blanc)
- 1½ cups heavy cream
- 1 cup parmesan cheese (grated)
- ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes
Instructions
- Cook the spaghetti according to package instructions. Reserve ½ cup of pasta water and drain.
- In a large skillet, melt the olive oil and butter over medium heat.
- Add the chopped onion and cook until softened, about 3 to 5 minutes.
- Stir in the minced garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Season with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning.
- Pour in the white wine and let it simmer for about 3 minutes.
- Add the heavy cream and bring the mixture to a boil.
- Incorporate the reserved pasta water and stir well. Simmer for an additional 5 minutes until the sauce thickens.
- Remove the skillet from heat.
- Mix in the grated parmesan cheese to the sauce until smooth.
- Add the cooked pasta and toss thoroughly to combine all ingredients.
- Garnish with extra parmesan cheese and sprinkle red pepper flakes on top.
Notes
Feel free to adjust the amount of red pepper flakes based on your spice preference.
You can substitute the white wine with vegetable or chicken broth for a non-alcoholic version.
For a lighter option, replace heavy cream with half-and-half or a lower-fat cream alternative.
