Description

  • 4 boneless skinless chicken breasts, or 2 large breasts halved horizontally
  • 1 teaspoon italian seasoning
  • ½ teaspoon kosher salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ¼ cup (31 g) all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter, divided
  • 5 teaspoons garlic, minced
  • 1 cup (8 ounces) chicken broth
  • ½ cup (119 g) heavy cream
  • ¼ cup (25 g) finely grated parmesan cheese
  • 12 teaspoons fresh lemon juice, optional, to brighten flavor
  • Fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Season the chicken breasts with italian seasoning, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder.
  2. Dredge the seasoned chicken breasts in flour, shaking off any excess.
  3. Heat olive oil and 1 tablespoon butter in a skillet over medium heat.
  4. Add the chicken and cook for about 5-7 minutes per side until golden brown and cooked through. Remove and set aside.
  5. In the same skillet, add remaining butter and garlic, sautéing until fragrant.
  6. Pour in the chicken broth and heavy cream, stirring to combine.
  7. Mix in the parmesan cheese and fresh lemon juice, if using.
  8. Return the chicken to the skillet, coating it with the sauce.
  9. Let it simmer for a few minutes, then garnish with fresh parsley before serving.

Notes

For additional flavor, consider marinating the chicken in the seasoning for a few hours before cooking.
