- 4 tablespoons brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons granulated garlic
- 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
- 1 tablespoon kosher salt
- 1 tablespoon coarse ground black pepper
- 1 teaspoon dry mustard
- 8 hamburger buns
- lettuce, tomato, red onion for serving plus your favorite condiments
Instructions
- Prepare a grill for cooking at about 300°F using hickory or oak for smoke flavor.
- In a bowl, combine brown sugar, garlic, smoked paprika, salt, pepper, and dry mustard to create a steak rub.
- Mix the seasoning blend into the ground beef and form into 8 patties, making an indentation in the center of each one.
- Place the patties over indirect heat on the grill, cover, and cook for about 5 minutes.
- Flip the burgers and continue grilling until they reach an internal temperature of 165°F.
- Remove the burgers from the grill and assemble on buns with lettuce, tomato, onion, and any condiments desired.
Notes
