These Caramel Apple Cinnamon Rolls are a delightful combination of sweet apples, rich caramel, and warm spices, perfect for breakfast or dessert. With simple ingredients and easy preparation, they make a great addition to any brunch or family gathering.

- 2 cups water, lukewarm
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 2 tablespoons active dry yeast
- 1/4 cup butter, melted
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tablespoon salt
- 5½–6 cups all-purpose flour
- 3 large apples, gala, honeycrisp, granny smith, or another tart and sweet variety
- 1/3 cup butter, melted, or very soft
- 2/3 cup brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/2 teaspoon ginger
- 1/4 teaspoon cloves
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1 cup dark brown sugar
- 1/2 cup Karo syrup
- 1/2 15-ounce can sweetened condensed milk
Instructions
- In a stand mixer bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast; let it sit for 5-10 minutes until bubbly.
- Add melted butter, eggs, salt, and 2 cups of flour; mix on low with a dough hook for 2 minutes until combined.
- Incorporate another 3½ cups of flour while mixing on low. Add more if necessary until the dough pulls from the bowl's sides. Knead on low for an additional 3 minutes.
- Cover the bowl with a towel and let it rise in a warm place for 30 minutes or until doubled in size.
- Once risen, turn the dough onto a floured surface and shape it into a rectangle. Roll it out to about 24" x 12" and 1/2" thick.
Notes
Feel free to use any combination of apples you prefer for a unique flavor.
For extra caramel flavor, drizzle extra caramel sauce over the rolls before serving.
Ensure the water is lukewarm to properly activate the yeast.
