Description

This Berry Trifle combines layers of light angel food cake with fresh berries and whipped cream, creating a delightful dessert perfect for gatherings or a sweet treat at home.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 cups whipping cream
  • ¾ cup powdered sugar
  • 1 ½ teaspoons pure vanilla extract
  • 1 angel food cake (or pound cake, 10 to 12 ounces)
  • 2 pounds strawberries
  • 1 pint blueberries
  • 3 tablespoons seedless strawberry jam
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • ¼ teaspoon pure vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Prepare the sauce by whisking together the jam, lemon juice, and honey in a small bowl until smooth.
  2. Cut the angel food cake into cubes.
  3. In a trifle dish, layer the cake, sauce, strawberries, blueberries, and whipped cream.
  4. Repeat the layers until all ingredients are used, ending with whipped cream on top.
  5. Refrigerate the trifle for a few hours before serving to allow flavors to blend.

Notes

You can substitute pound cake for the angel food cake for a denser texture.
Feel free to use any seasonal berries available.
Make ahead of time to save preparation on serving day.
