- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup buttermilk
- 2 large eggs
- 2 tablespoons butter, melted
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
- In another large bowl, whisk together apple cider, sugar, buttermilk, melted butter, eggs, and vanilla until well combined.
- Pour the apple cider mixture into the flour mixture and whisk until just combined.
- Fill greased donut molds about 2/3 full with the donut batter.
- Bake for 7-9 minutes or until the edges are golden brown and the tops spring back when gently pressed.
- Remove the donuts from the oven and allow them to cool for about 2 minutes.
- Gently remove the donuts using a fork or knife and place them on a sheet tray to cool.
- Prepare the cinnamon sugar mixture by combining sugar and cinnamon in a bowl.
- Brush the tops of the donuts with melted butter and dip them into the cinnamon sugar mixture.
- Serve warm or at room temperature.
Notes
Make sure not to overmix the batter to keep the donuts fluffy.
