Description
These Valentine’s Day Truffles are a delightful treat featuring the irresistible combination of vanilla Oreos and creamy white chocolate. With simple prep steps, these truffles are perfect for sharing love and sweetness with friends and family.
Ingredients
Scale
- 36 vanilla oreos about 15 ounces
- 1 8-ounce block cream cheese softened
- 14–16 ounces white chocolate melts
- red oil-based food coloring optional (or powdered)
- sprinkles optional
Instructions
- Prepare a sheet pan lined with parchment paper and set aside.
- Crush the Oreos in a food processor until they are fine crumbs, using 10-second increments.
- Transfer the cookie crumbs to a mixing bowl and add the softened cream cheese. Mix thoroughly, ideally using your hands for better incorporation.
- Using a 1.5-tablespoon cookie scoop, shape the mixture into balls and place them on the prepared baking sheet. Roll into smooth balls and freeze for 30 minutes or refrigerate for 1 hour.
- Melt the white chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl using 20-second intervals, stirring in between, or use a double boiler.
- If coloring the chocolate, add a few drops of food coloring after the chocolate has melted, stirring to achieve the desired shade.
- Dip each truffle into the melted chocolate using a fork, ensuring it is fully coated. Tap off any extra chocolate and place back on the sheet.
- If applying a drizzle, chill the truffles in the fridge or freezer for about 10 minutes before decorating as desired.
- Add sprinkles while the chocolate is still wet, and let the chocolate set on the counter for about 2 hours.
Notes
Ensure cream cheese is softened for easy mixing.
Customize the truffles by using different types of chocolate or colored sprinkles.
Store finished truffles in the refrigerator for freshness.
