Description
These Grinch Oreos are a festive treat featuring red velvet cookies dipped in light green candy melts, topped with sprinkles. Perfect for holiday gatherings!
Ingredients
- light green candy melts – 10 ounces
- red velvet oreos – 12.2 ounces
- red heart sprinkles – 24 pieces
- dark green sanding sugar – 1 tablespoon (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare two large baking sheets by lining them with parchment paper.
- Reserve ½ cup of light green candy melts for later drizzle and melt the remaining in a double boiler over low heat, stirring every 30 seconds until smooth. Alternatively, use a microwave in 30-second intervals.
- Dip a Red Velvet Oreo into the melted candy melts using a fork. Lift it out and tap the fork against the bowl to shake off excess coating.
- Transfer the dipped cookie onto the lined tray and repeat this process for the remaining Oreos.
- Put the reserved ½ cup of candy melts into a microwave-safe piping bag. Melt on low power, massaging the bag every 60 seconds until softened.
- Cut a small tip from the piping bag and drizzle the melted chocolate over the dipped Oreos in a zig-zag pattern.
- Sprinkle a red heart sprinkle and optional green sanding sugar onto each cookie immediately after drizzling.
- Let the chocolate set completely either at room temperature or in the fridge before serving.
Notes
Ensure the candy melts are completely melted for smooth dipping.
Use a fork to help control the amount of chocolate on the Oreos when dipping.
